About the AMRAS Accreditation Board (AAB)

The AMRAS Accreditation Board is dedicated to establishing and maintaining the highest standards in minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery. As part of the AMRAS mission, the Board ensures that surgeons, training centres, and educational programs meet rigorous, evidence-based benchmarks for clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous professional development.

The AAB is the highest governing body in AMRAS with regard to certification, accreditation and recognition of individual surgeon, programme & qualification

Core functions

  • Objective assessment of surgical competency based on standardised accreditation frameworks set by the Advanced MIS Committee of AMRAS
  • Assess Competency and quality of training that a candidate has undergone under the ASC programme, and if proven satisfactory , confer the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) to candidate after completion of step 3
  • Assess qualification, experience and training of candidate applying/referred by peer(s) to be surgeon proctor – if proven satisfactory to confer recognition and surgeon proctor status to such.
  • Act as main accreditation and certification body for the AMRAS FMIGS & AMIGS programme.
  • Program Accreditation: Endorsement of educational programs that deliver high quality, comprehensive, evidence-based training in all aspects of gynaecologic endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery, ablation therapy for Gynaecologists.
