Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping and Minimally Invasive Staging in Endometrial and Cervical Cancer
05 June 2025
Location: Borneo Cultural Museum
Objectives
- Master the principles and evidence behind sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping in endometrial and cervical cancer (benefits, limitations, and indications).
 - Develop hands‑on procedural competence in SLN mapping: tracer injection, node identification, dissection, and handling mapping failures.
 - Integrate SLN findings into clinical decision‑making: interpret pathology, troubleshoot pitfalls, and apply results to stage and guide subsequent therapy.

Description
This one day interactive workshop offers a focused, clinically oriented deep dive into sentinel lymph node (SLN) mapping and minimally invasive staging for endometrial and cervical cancer. Participants will explore the latest evidence, imaging technologies (e.g. ICG fluorescence), surgical techniques, and algorithmic decision‑making, while gaining hands‑on experience through simulation and live/video demonstration.
Small‑group skill stations emphasize tracer injection, retroperitoneal dissection, fluorescence imaging, and deep pelvic suturing with expert feedback. Designed for gynecologic oncologists, fellows, and surgical oncologists, the workshop equips attendees with the confidence and competence to adopt SLN workflows in their practice—optimizing staging accuracy, reducing morbidity, and integrating nodal findings into tailored patient management.
