Advanced Anatomy for MIS & Robotic Gynaecologic Surgeons
Theme:
“Planes, Pathways & Precision — Mastering Pelvic Anatomy for Complex Gynaecologic Surgery”
05 June 2025
Location: Borneo Cultural Museum
Objectives
This workshop is designed to help surgeons build the essential anatomical knowledge and surgical strategies needed for complex minimally invasive and robotic gynaecologic surgery. By attending, participants will:
- Strengthen their understanding of key pelvic anatomical landmarks — anterior, lateral, and posterior compartments — to perform safer and more precise surgery.
- Learn how to identify and protect critical structures such as ureters, bladder, pelvic nerves, and blood vessels during complex dissection.
- Gain a deeper understanding of bowel anatomy relevant to gynaecologic surgery and how to safely mobilise and manage the bowel in cases of deep endometriosis or severe adhesions.
- Understand surgical decision-making in bowel involvement — when to perform shaving, discoid excision, or segmental resection — and how to work effectively with a colorectal team.
- See how anatomy knowledge directly guides surgical planning and technique during advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures.
- Observe these principles applied in real time during a live surgery demonstration.
